Our Company's Mission:
Thomas W. Garlock, President/Founder
Mr.Garlock began his career in 1982 building portfolios of hard assets for private clients seeking alternative investment diversification in real estate, oil and gas, and agriculture assets. He has been active as a real estate investor and developer in the Jackson, Wyoming area and in Southern California since 1985. A Jackson Hole resident since 1995, Mr. Garlock appreciates the natural beauty of Wyoming and Idaho along with its abundant outdoor activities. Mr. Garlock is the managing partner of several investment funds which contract for management and administrative services from TLDG, including, without limitation, : Five Rivers Property Fund, LLC, Trail Creek Crossing, LLC, The Income Fund, LLC and Total Return Income Fund, LLC; all of which are real estate development or real-estate-related companies operating in the Jackson Hole, Wyoming market.
For the past 34 years, Mr. Garlock has organized ventures in real estate as well as numerous wireless communication fields, including cellular telephony and wireless data networks. Mr. Garlock has been the principal in a variety of communications license-based ventures that have held and developed 55 MSA metropolitan cellular telephone licenses and 9 RSA rural cellular telephone licenses.
Mr. Garlock is the author of “The Ultimate Guide to Self-Directed Retirement Plans” released in 2012 and the co-author with Richard Lackey of the bestselling book: Radical Response- Free Market Solutions to Global Crisis, released in 2014.
Mr. Garlock completed coursework (Business Administration) at the University of California at Los Angeles (1976-1978) and coursework (Business Administration) at Kent State University (1974-1976).
James R. Smith, V.P.,
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Smith joined the Company in May 2015 as V.P., and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Smith has substantial experience as a residential real estate developer, including positions as the President and Legal Counsel of a Chicago-based development company. Mr. Smith also has a substantial finance and accounting background, having served as the V.P., Chief Financial Officer of a North Dakota-based oil & gas services company and, prior to that, as the Manager of Corporate Financial Analysis & Planning and a Division Controller for Carson Pirie Scott & Co., a Chicago-based, Fortune 500 company. Mr. Smith has also been a licensed Illinois attorney (corporate, commercial, and real estate law) since 1993 and practiced with Mayer Brown LLP (a large, international law firm) in Chicago. Mr. Smith has a B.S. degree (Marketing) from Michigan State University, an M.B.A. degree (Finance) from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, a J.D. degree (Corporate Law) from the University of Iowa School of Law, and an LL.M. degree (Tax Law) from New York University School of Law. He is also a member of the Illinois CPA Society.
